The Trump rally at Madison Square Garden this past weekend laid it out plainly: racism is at the core of his path to power. From Tony Hinchcliffe’s denigration of Puerto Ricans to Dr. Oz’s dog whistles about DEI, these statements were strategic and intentional.
The MAGA movement has inherited and perfected a decades-old divide-and-conquer strategy that blames others (people of color, immigrants, trans people) for daily struggles to direct blame away from those at the top and divide working people against each other.
And these comments are particularly aimed at white communities.
We’ve got ONE WEEK to out-organize them to stop MAGA from gaining further federal power. This moment isn’t about being all in for a party or a candidate– it’s about stopping a genuine authoritarian movement backed by the billionaire class that will determine the terrain of our organizing for decades.
SURJ’s phonebanks are now nearly 400 callers strong on each bank and have already reached millions of white voters in battleground states. We’re also knocking doors in Western WI, Asheville, NC, and Chester County, PA– plus in Arizona and Michigan with our partners at Seed the Voter.
In this final push, here are three ways you can support:
- Knock doors in a battleground state with us.
- Join us on a phonebank to get white voters to the polls!
- Register to join us at a meeting the day after the election, Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT where no matter what happens on Tuesday, we’ll gather together, make meaning of the moment, and give you action steps to show up for what’s needed.
