Temporary Constituency Based Organizer
Full time, Temporary (9/1/2024 – 1/31/2025), Remote, $65,000 (pro-rated)
SURJ is seeking a Temporary Constituency Based Organizer focused on organizing white men in our National Organizing Department (NOD) to support SURJ’s strategic campaigns, This position will be the point person for recruiting and retaining white men in SURJ’s organizing and programmatic work in order to counter the right’s recruitment of white men, and build feminist, anti-racist power with this key constituency for SURJ’s work. This role will particularly focus on our electoral organizing and election defense in 2024 and early 2025. A successful person in this role is expected to carry out recruitment, leadership development of members, and design and execute organizing programs aligned with SURJ’s national strategy and campaigns.

Temporary Recruitment and Retention Organizer

SURJ is seeking a Temporary Recruitment and Retention Organizer in our National Organizing Department (NOD) to support SURJ’s recruitment and retention of members, which vary from year to year depending on the landscape in which we are organizing, base building, and vying for power. This includes working as part of the Recruitment Team to implement needed
recruitment tactics. A successful person in this role is expected to carry out recruitment, leadership development of members, and design and execute organizing programs aligned with SURJ’s national strategy and campaigns.

Temporary Rapid Response Organizer
Full time, Temporary (9/1/2024 – 1/31/2025), Remote, $65,000 (pro-rated)
SURJ is seeking a Temporary Rapid Response Organizer in our National Organizing Department (NOD) to support SURJ’s responses to events that might happen during the 2024 election cycle through inauguration. We cannot fully anticipate what events might occur that could trigger the organization to move into rapid response mode, but heightened political violence and the nature of Trump’s discourse make us think there could be moments in which our base will need to defend democratic principles in various ways. This position would work with members of the NOD, chapter and member leaders, and across other departments at the organization to support an organizational response. This position will be responsible for training a team of people, and training chapters and members to take action. The Senior Leadership Team and NOD leadership will be decision makers on when rapid response actions are needed.

Temporary Distributed and Ground Voter Contact Organizer

SURJ is seeking a Temporary Distributed and Ground Voter Contact Organizer in our National Organizing Department (NOD) to support SURJ’s electoral organizing work throughout 2024. This includes supporting the infrastructure of SURJ’s distributed voter contact campaigns by project managing distinct parts of the program on an ongoing basis and contributing to the overall health of the program by holding various aspects of the program as a whole depending on emergent needs in a given period. This position will also support the canvassing efforts happening on the ground in key swing states. Every organizer within SURJ’s National Organizing Department is expected to carry out recruitment, leadership development of members, and design and execute organizing programs aligned with SURJ’s national strategy and campaigns.

Senior Donor Organizer
Full Time, Remote, $90,000
SURJ is proud that the majority of our funding comes from individual donors. The Senior Donor Organizer will work closely with the Director of Impact, the Deputy Development Director, the SURJ Board, the Impact Team, and SURJ organizers to build out a donor community and increase the number and size of major gift contributions ranging from $10,000 to $50,000, including holding some relationships who contribute more. This role will also work with the Deputy Development Director, the Impact Team, and organizers to build systems that effectively steward donor relationships at all levels.This position includes domestic travel 15-25% of the Time. SURJ is aiming to build a distributed culture of fundraising, which means that this position will be focused not just on raising money directly, but will also work with a broad group of individuals to build fundraising skills and make asks.
