Deputy Development Director

Full Time,Remote, $100,000

The Deputy Development Director is responsible for leading SURJ’s development team to have a high impact by bottom lining team management, staff supervision, planning processes, systems and cross-departmental coordination. A successful person in this role wants to be a “team captain,” using what they know to support others to move money at scale into multiracial movements for justice. The Deputy Development Director is an excellent supervisor and project manager who ensures that the growing development team is coordinated, clear on division of labor and priorities, and able to work effectively at a high level.

Faith Organizing Manager

Full Time, Remote, $70,000

SURJ is seeking a Faith Organizing Manager who will lead SURJ’s work to 1) drive initiatives that are focused on developing the leadership, skills and analysis of people of faith, 2) organize people of faith into SURJ’s existing campaigns and organizing programs, and 3) develop and implement specific faith organizing plans that support SURJ’s overall strategies and goals. This position is accountable for the day-to-day execution of SURJ’s faith work, and also contributes to SURJ’s short- and long-term faith organizing plans. This will require meetings with partners, close coordination with other SURJ organizing programs, recruitment of congregations, development of curriculum, and leadership development with participants. The Faith Organizing Manager represents SURJ’s faith work as a member of the Management Leadership Team.

Communications Director

Full Time, Remote, $100,000- $120,000

SURJ is seeking a Communications Director to drive SURJ’s narrative strategy and strategic communications work across our campaigns to a wide array of various audiences. Our ideal Communications Director is an effective leader who brings a visionary, creative, and rigorous approach to advancing SURJ’s critical mission at this time in the world. This person should be able to execute and not just direct the work, make difficult and strategic decisions in high pressure situations, and balance multiple and competing interests. They will provide oversight of and leadership to the communications department, who will implement much of the work.
