We’re going into this new year in community. 2025 will require us to dig deep, renew our commitments to justice, and keep our eyes on the long-haul vision. We’ve got big plans, and we’re ready to get to work together.
On our call, “Subverting the Jan 6 Movement: organizing white people for Justice,” we heard from SURJ leaders about white people’s strategic contributions to this moment and historical and modern examples from Maria Stephan of how ordinary people have resisted authoritarian regimes.

In the training portion of the call, SURJ organizers introduced our Resist and Protect National Day of Action on February 1. On this day, SURJ members participating in the Gear Up training program will host rallies across the country, putting pressure on institutions or organizations in their local communities to not comply with Trump’s immoral, dangerous executive orders and policies.
