We know that Georgia is going to continue to be a battleground for attempted fascist takeover in the days ahead– the state has attempted to ram disenfranchisement laws through the statehouse and roving white supremacist militias are poised to threaten voters on election day.
Folks in the SURJ network from across the country are working to make sure Bee Nguyen is Georgia’s next Secretary of State because that position oversees election protocols and enforcement. We need a candidate in that position who is willing to fight back against fascist creep and defend democracy in elections that will affect the whole country.
Here’s why we’re throwing down for Bee Nguyen for Secretary of State:
- As a voting rights expert, Bee will stand up and protect our freedom to vote, and Bee will ensure Georgia’s elections are always fair and secure.
- Bee will invest in training and resources for all 159 local election boards in the state of Georgia.
- Bee is committed to language access and translation of all election materials housed within the Elections division.
- She will protect the election certification process by upholding the will of the people.
