Thank you to everyone who took action with us in this campaign. We didn’t win– but SURJ members can be proud of the 2.5 million dials, 80,000 conversations, and 3,500 individuals who took action with us. We are so proud of this work– and hope you are too.
Today there are immediate next steps you can take against MAGA– and look out in the days ahead for more opportunities. Last night, more than 6,000 people, many of them new to SURJ, joined our webinar to commit to organizing other white people in this moment and in the years ahead. The mandate for white people to organize our own has never been clearer.
Here’s how you can show up with us this week:
- Get trained to host a community meeting for white people. Over 900 people have already signed up to host meetings to process this moment and commit to action together. If you’ve hosted a birthday party or a book club, you can host a community meeting! We will provide training, an agenda, and coaching to support you. If you can’t join tonight, register and we will follow up with other training options.
- Sign our pledge to commit to taking action against MAGA in the next 2.5 months. We are in conversation with our partners about what that will look like– ballot curing, protests, and other organizing opportunities– and will be in touch shortly about action opportunities.
- Give a gift to SURJ to power our work. We’re committed to showing up BIG in this important moment– and your generosity helps make that possible.
