Rachel (she/her) is the Executive Assistant for SURJ and directly supports the SURJ Director’s calendar along with various internal projects. In her life prior to SURJ, Rachel was a high school History and English teacher before shifting to Internal Communications for a global tech agency. She joined the Boston SURJ chapter during the awful summer of 2016, where she was introduced to a world beyond the one she had always known, coming from the white upper class. She committed at that time to the lifelong work of dismantling white supremacy, and as a mom of two white kids, she’s especially passionate about antiracist parenting. Rachel and her family now live in Central Florida; she joined SURJ staff in the spring of 2020.
